    homechurch
a conceptual architectural design combining clashing styles, eras, and dreams into a whimsical, if impossible, home design. model scale -  1 : 60
    material: 1 cm foam board

the design features a large atrium with a vaulted ceiling that functions as a primary living space. storage and a full bathroom sandwich the entrance hallway, before the room opens up into an open-concept kitchen, elevated sitting area featuring a glass-enclosed alcove with custom-fitted seating and table overlooking the backyard. verticality was a major player in the design, with the treehouse-inspired bedroom tucked away above and outside of the main building, accessible via the central staircase and adjoining hallway. bedroom features a small loft and massive windows on 3/4 walls. outside, there is a small garden framed by flying buttresses and underneath the elevated bedroom, a small covered area with space for a parked car or patio. the design is inspired by an amalgamation of various architectural phenomena, for example, the A-frame design of the primary building, clashing with the gothic buttresses. the interior’s christian chapel-inspired stage and pulpit area instead is utilized as a dining or seating area. the choices made are fantastical, and advocate for a less rigid definition of space and style, instead using personal touches and selections to create a truly unique home for oneself.
