    my_Medusa

my medusa is a woman i used to know. my medusa is a woman i used to hate. i don’t anymore. she’s no different from me. my medusa is a mirror. my medusa is a mirror of all the things we both wish we hadn’t said. my medusa is tired - and so am i.

my_Medusa is a plaster and wire mask capturing a moment of time in the relationship between mother and son. It is a story of regret, fear, anger, and confusion. In this work, I speak to the emotions that comes from seeing yourself in your parents and the frustration and anxieties that come from that in a strained relationship situation. The writings surrounding the head are taken from the last times that I spoke with my mother at the time of creation, from both sides.
